Shapes

Complete the shape!

Cut out circles, triangles, rectangles, squares, and trapezoids from construction paper of the same color. Cut the shapes into halves or fourths, mix all the pieces and lay them so all are visible. Get your child to put the pieces together to create a whole shape. As they look for the pieces, encourage your child to talk about the attributes of the shape by asking them questions like, “What shape are you completing?” and “How many vertices/sides/parallel sides does it have?”
