Kindergarten: Math
Solid Shapes
Go on a shape hunt.
As your child learns about solid shapes, also known as 3-D shapes, like cubes, cones, cylinders, and spheres, point them out whenever you see them around your house, such as in glasses or ice cream cones, or outdoors, such as in logs or street lamps. Once your child is comfortable identifying 3-D shapes, challenge them to take the lead in pointing them out. This activity will help your child learn the names of solid shapes and recognize them in everyday objects.
