Pre-K: Math
Counting through 10
Go on a counting scavenger hunt.
Collect 10 counters of the same item, such as blocks, mini figures, or balls. Count them with your child to confirm there are 10 objects. Separate the number of items you will hide and count them with your child to remind them of the order of the numbers. Keep the remaining items visible and hide the items you separated. Ask your child to find the hidden items and when finished, encourage them to count the objects to ensure they have found all the items.
Once you have played a few rounds, switch roles. Have your child count out an amount from the set of 10 items to hide. As you search for the objects, count with your child to help them practice their counting skills.
